What does the double flashing of the BOLD light mean on my COM530 and COM532 combination unit?

The double flashing of the BOLD light indicates that the drip side of the unit requires descaling. Follow the steps below to descale it:

  1. Remove the anti-chlorine filter and pour 100 mL (3.3 oz) of descaler into the tank.

  2. Fill the tank with water up to the "max" level for the correct dilution.

  3. Place the carafe on the warming plate.

  4. Press and hold the "BOLD" touch icon for at least 6 seconds to initiate the descaling cycle.

  5. Throughout the descaling cycle, the "BOLD" LED will blink. The clock will switch to a countdown (27 minutes) during the process and will continue to blink until the descaling is complete.

  6. Rinse the system at least 3 times by running the machine with water only.
