Priming issues

Priming

  • Connect the appliance to a mains socket.

  • The BREW button blinks and the PITCHER icon lights on.

  • Remove the water tank, fill it to the MAX level (marked on the tank) with fresh water, then put the tank back in the appliance correctly.

  • Place a container holding a minimum of approx. 7 FL oz/200 ml underneath the coffee spout.

  • Press the BREW button. The appliance delivers water from the

  • coffee spout.

The coffee machine is now ready for normal use.

The first time you use the appliance, you need to make some coffee before it starts to give satisfactory results.

Priming did not work.

Remove the water tank and put it back, there may be an airlock.

The customer must attempt to prime de unit again.

Lights and alarms

The descaling alarm stays on after the cleaning cycle has finished.

The customer tried to descale their unit and at the end of the process, the alarm is still active.

● it is likely they did not do all the steps or the cycle was interrupted.

● The descaling process is different on all machines. Refer to the manual.

Descaling

  1. Press the RINSE button for 3 seconds.

  2. The icon WATER TANK lights on.

  3. Empty drip tray and coffee grounds container.

  4. The PITCHER icon lights on.

  5. Pour the descaler into the water tank (corresponding to a 3.5 floz/100ml pack) then add water (about 35 floz/1 liter) and put the water tank back.

  6. Place a container holding a minimum of 70 floz/2 liters underneath the coffee spout (H).

  7. Press the RINSE button.

  8. The RINSE button blinks. The TEMPERATURE and DROP icons light on.

  9. The descaling program starts and the descaler liquid. It comes out of the coffee spout. A series of rinses and pauses. It is performed automatically to remove all the scale residues inside the coffee machine.

  10. The appliance is now ready for rinsing through with clean water. The icon WATER TANK lights on. Empty the container used to collect the descaler solution. Extract the water tank, empty it, and rinse under running water.

    Rinse

  11. Empty drip tray and coffee grounds container. The PITCHER icon lights on. Fill with fresh water up to the MAX level and put it back in the appliance.

  12. Place the container used to collect the descaler solution empty under the coffee spout.

  13. Press button. Hot water is delivered from the coffee spout. The icons light on.

  14. At the end of the cycle, the icons WATER TANK lights on.

  15. At the end of the rinse, extract the tray assemble, empty, and replace the disposal water container.

    Empty the container used to collect the rinse water, remove the water tank and fill with fresh water up to the MAX level, then put back in the appliance. The descaling cycle is now complete and the appliance turn off.

  16. When the appliance turns on again, the BREW button blinks. Press the BREW button. The coffee machine is now ready for use.

Please note: It is possible to make an extra descaling cycle by

pressing the RINSE button for 3 seconds

Unit is showing error message " FILL COFFEE BEANS CONTAINER "- but it has beans.

The alarm is triggered when the beans are running out. This message may also indicate that the unit needs more beans. If you added some beans but they are under the sensor the alarm will still appear.

If you already filled the beans container to its max capacity and you are still getting this error message it could be a problem with the sensor. There is no troubleshooting for this.

Noise

  1. Where is the noise coming from?

  2. Is this a brand-new machine you just purchased? If yes: It might be a normal noise. Keep in mind the grinder makes a noise when it is grinding.

  3. Noise from the infuser moving into place.

  4. Did you not hear this noise before?

Coffee issues

My unit will not dispense coffee

If using pre-ground coffee

  • The pre-ground coffee may be too fine.

 

If using beans

  • If the unit is not delivering any water there may be air in the system. The water pitcher symbol will come on together with the brew button flashing indicating to prime the unit  please try the following:

  • Turn the unit on and fill the water tank with water

  • Make sure the tank is fully inserted

  • Place a cup under the spout.

  • Press the BREW button

Coffee is not hot enough

If a consumer calls and their coffee is not Hot, they can try the following:

  • Preheat the cups.

  • Check the manual for a temp setting and change the setting if the unit allows it.

  • The unit may not show a descale message but if the unit is clogged that may affect temp.

My unit has coffee grounds all over the inside of the unit

If using pre-ground coffee:

  • Make sure you add it at the right moment.

 

If using beans:

  • Make sure the brew unit is clean.

  • Make sure the infuser is not moving freely.

Can not choose a drink larger than 16 oz.

The pre-ground function may be active. In pre-ground, you can only make recipes up to 16 oz.

The unit delivered less than the recipe the customer chooses.

The recipe 8oz, 12oz, 16oz, Is the type of container to use for that recipe, the unit will deliver less than the recipe.

The unit only delivered half of the recipe.

Make sure it is not in Over ice function… in over ice the unit delivers half of what suppose to because the rest would be made of melted ice cubes.

Pre-ground issues

Turn the unit on. Choose the pre-ground option, after that add the pre-ground coffee then press the “Brew” button.

Old software versions: The icon will start flashing when the customer presses the button once (keep in mind the customer has 20 seconds to press the button again), the customer will need to press the button again (total 2 times).

New software version: The customer needs to press the “brew button” once.

Note: Do not press the Brew Button before adding the pre-ground coffee.

Coffee is too strong no matter the recipe

Is the customer testing the unit with a different type of coffee? The customer could try to use coffee with a lighter roast.

TIP: The customer can adjust the flavor by adding more water.

Inside the unit issues

Infuser is stuck

When turning off the unit, you must press the power button and wait for the unit to shut down and all movement inside stops. If you unplug the unit and or remove the drip tray the infuser will not reposition itself properly and then then you need to do the following steps

● Ask the consumer how they shut it off and if they opened it while moving.

● Make sure the unit is off.

● Turn the unit back on

● And then turn it off again.

● Do not pull the drip tray or turn off the unit until you hear no sound, and the cycle has stopped. The infuser should now be back in place.

Can't remove the stuck infuser from the unit

  • Ask the consumer how they shut it off and if they opened it while moving.

  • Make sure the unit is off.

  • Turn the unit back on

  • And then turn it off again.

  • Do not pull the drip tray or turn off the unit until you hear no sound, and the cycle has stopped. The infuser should now be back in place.

There is a mess inside the Unit.

The customer may remove the drip tray when the brewing unit is working.

Once the unit completes the brewing cycle the brewing unit will go all the way up. If the consumer removes the drip tray during that moment the brewing unit may leak some water.

Also, when the machine disposes of the coffee puck it may dump some water. Explain to the customer that this is normal.

Water tank issues

Vibration

  • The water tank is empty: Fill the tank.

    The tank is not correctly in place and the valve on the bottom is not open: Press the tank down lightly to open the valve on the bottom.

  • Some vibrations are normal due to the infuser movements.

Leaking issues

From the bottom to the counter

  • The drip tray is full and needs to be emptied.

  • The water tank is not fully inserted.

Note: The unit will dump some water into the drip tray during normal operation. It is normal to have some water in the drip tray.

Sometimes this issue could be presented during the priming. Refer to priming issues.

Brewing unit is not inserted

Encoder reset

If the brewing unit is inserted, an encoder reset will help to solve it:

  • With the unit on standby, pull the drip tray out and press and hold the "SIZE" and "BREW" together till the lights go on.

  • Push the drip tray in and press the "DESCALE' button.

  • The "GROUND CONTAINER" alarm will appear for a few seconds.

  • Unplug the unit.

Truebrew - Brewing temperatures

Brewing temperatures at extraction:

Temp 1 - 90 °C degrees (+/-2°)

Temp 2 - 92 °C degrees (+/-2°)

Temp 3 - 94 °C degrees (+/-2°)

Te Bean Extract Technology automatically sets all the brewing parameters including temperature based on the chosen brewing style and size.

The temperature will vary +-2°C degrees depending on the selected recipe.

The in-cup temperatures will be lower due to the extraction and delivery process. It may vary due to brew size and individual factors.

If you prefer a hotter in-cup coffee we recommend to pre-warm your cup before brewing.
