The customer selected the pre-ground function by mistake.

Lights and alarms

The descaling alarm stays on after the cleaning cycle has finished

A. The customer tried to descale their unit and at the end of the process, the alarm is still active.

  • it is likely they did not do all the steps or the cycle was interrupted.

  • The descaling process is different on all machines. Refer to the manual.

B. The customer followed the instructions in the manual but the descaling light is still on.

  • The customer needs to redo the descaling process.

  • Advise they can use only water the second time and only use about 3 inches of water to speed up the process. However, they must COMPLETE the cycle.

NOTE: Descaling the unit and keeping it clean is very important to the unit's operation and longevity.

If the unit is not kept clean it is likely it will not continue to produce a great cup of coffee.

For subsequent descaling operations, descaling solutions can be purchased from authorized technical service centers. Note: Make sure splashes of descaler do not fall onto surfaces sensitive to acid such as marble, limestone and granite.

Other alarms

Refer to User Manual "MEANING OF THE ALARM INDICATOR LIGHTS AND WHAT TO DO WHEN THEY ARE ON"

Inside the Infuser Door Problems

Infuser is stuck / Can't remove the stuck infuser from the unit

When turning off the unit, you must press the button and wait for the unit to shut down and all movement inside stops. If you unplug the unit the infuser will not reposition itself properly and then then you need to do the following steps:

  • Ask the consumer how they shut it off and if they opened it while moving

  • Make sure the unit is off

  • Turn the unit back on

  • And then turn it off again.

  • Do not open the door, pull the drip tray or turn off the unit until you hear no sound and the cycle has stopped. The infuser should now be back in place.

Steaming issues

Not Frothing

  • Always Use the clean function to clean the milk carafe after each session.

  • Check the frother has all o'rings intact on the shaft

  • Ensure that the shafts have all holes clean.

  • Best to use 2% fat milk. Lower-fat milk may not produce too much foam.

  • Make sure to fully disassemble the carafe and clean it. Make sure to immerse it in the multi clean solution or water with dish soap. It can also be cleaned in a dishwasher.

  • Make sure to clean the plastic coupling.

  • Refer to the manual to know how to disassemble and clean the lid.

The unit does not recognize the carafe

  • Make sure the plastic coupling is not broken

  • The product has a sensor to recognize when there is no milk inside the carafe (also if using alternative milk which is too clear (water-like) could not detect the liquid)

Priming issues

My unit will not dispense water and makes a loud noise

If you hear a loud buzzing noise and the unit is not rinsing or delivering any water there may be air in the system. To release the air please try the following:

  • Remove the water softener filter from the water tank (if present)

  • Turn the unit on and fill the water tank with water

  • Place a cup under the hot water spout.

  • If unit has a steam valve knob, open the valve all the way until water comes out

  • The unit has been primed and should dispense coffee.

  • Prime the unit again

Coffee issues

Coffee doesn't flow

Perform a rinse function.

  1. Remove the water tank, rinse it, and fill it with clean water.

  2. Reposition the tank.

  3. Empty the collection container (located under the milk frother) that is full of liquid, and then replace it under the milk frother.

  4. Turn the steam knob half a turn counter-clockwise. Hot water will come out of the milk frother and fill the container underneath.

  5. When the tank is empty, the rinse/descaling light goes off and the water light comes on.

  6. Turn the steam knob all the way clockwise) and fill the water tank with clean water again.

A. If water is coming out

  • The ground coffee may be too fine, adjust the grinder coarseness settings. The grinding coarseness adjustment knob must only be turned when the coffee grinder is on.

  • There is too much ground coffee. Make sure the grinding is set to the right amount, otherwise, look at the “grinding too long issue” section.

B. If no water comes out:

  • Remove the softener filter

  • Make sure the water tank is fully inserted and has water.

  • Make sure the coffee spout is clean.

  • Make sure the brewing unit is clean or clean it.

  • Press the hold button for a few seconds to perform a rinse cycle

Possible Cause:

Solution:

  • Adjust the grinding to the finer settings

The coffee comes out too slow or dripping

Possible Cause:

  • The coffee is ground too fine

Solution:

  • Adjust the grinding to the coarse settings

Cold Coffee

If a consumer calls and their coffee is not Hot, they can try the following:

  • Preheat the cups by running under hot water prior to use or use the rinse cycle on the unit. This will also warm the system

  • Check the manual for a temp setting and change the setting if the unit allows

  • The unit may not show a descale message but if the unit is clogged that may affect temp.

NOTE: make sure the consumer understands Espresso coffee is not as hot as the drip coffee. Espresso is meant to be drunk as a shot, not a large cup of coffee.

Leaking water

The unit will dump some water into the drip tray during normal operation. It is normal to have some water in the drip tray.

Leaking from the bottom to the counter
