To use it, press the button.

Please note:

• The first time you use the machine, you need to make 4-5

cups of coffee before it starts to give satisfactory results.

• To enjoy your coffee even more and improve the performance of your machine, we recommend installing a water softener filter as described in section “20. Water softener filter”. If your model is not provided with a filter, you can request one from De'Longhi Customer Services.

My unit will not dispense water and makes a loud noise.

If the customer hears a loud hum and the unit does not flush or dispense water, there may be air in the system.

To release the air, try the following:

  • Turn the unit on and fill the water tank with water.

  • Make sure the customer is inserting the water tank correctly.

  • Insert the waterspout.

  • Place a cup under the hot waterspout.

  • This process may need to be completed multiple times.

Note: Ask the customer if they see any damage to the water tank. If the unit has a water filter in the water tank, ask them to remove it. If the unit delivers water it means the water filter was incorrectly inserted.

Lights/Alarms

Descaling alarm stays on after the cleaning cycle has finished

The customer tried to descale their unit and at the end of the process the alarm is still active.

  • it is likely they did not do all the steps or the cycle was interrupted.

  • The descaling process is different on all machines. Refer to the manual.

The customer followed the instructions in the manual but the descaling light is still on.

  • The customer needs to redo the descale process.

  • Advise they can use only water the second time. However, they must COMPLETE the cycle.

NOTE: Descaling the unit and keeping it clean is very important to the unit's operation and longevity.

If the unit is not kept clean it is likely it will not continue to produce a great cup of coffee.

For subsequent descaling operations, descaling solutions can be purchased on our website.

Note: Make sure splashes of descaler do not fall onto surfaces sensitive to acid such as marble, limestone and granite.
