Lights/ Alarms problems

1.1 Descale light won't go off

When the LED CLEAN light starts flashing it is time to descale your machine.

  1. Remove the gold tone and charcoal filters before descaling.

  2. Add descaling solution (following packaging instruction) into the water tank and fill up with water.

  3. Place the empty glass carafe onto the warming plate.

  4. Place the lever in position "Coffee" and press the on/Off button.

  5. Press Clean and then set to start the descaling process. The countdown timer will start displaying 23 minutes.

  6. Once the cleaning process is complete the countdown will show 4 minutes and the clean light will flash. Empty the carafe of cleaning solution.

  7. Fill the water tank with a full 10 cups pot of fresh water, place the empty carafe in the warming plate, and press clean to start the rinsing cycle.

  8. When the program is complete, the on/Off and Clean lights will turn off.

  9. Empty and wash the carafe before use.

If the customer pressed the CLEAN button by mistake, they could skip the descaling procedure just following the below steps:

  1. Remove the water tank.

  2. When the display shows 04 (it would take a minute) press the clean button again

  3. After few seconds the unit will emit a beep and the clean light will turn off

1.2 Display shows E21

This error indicates there is insufficient water in the tank for the beverage size selected or that the water tank didn’t make a clean connection when it was returned to its position.

To reset the sensor and clear the E21 message in the display:

  1. Make sure the water tank has enough water for the beverage size you’d like to make.

  2. Lift and replace the water tank with a firm press.

  3. Turn the unit off and back on and this should clear the error.

If there is enough water in the tank and you continue getting the error E21 try to remove and put the water tank back a few times to clear any possible airlock in the system.

1.3 Display shows E13

Make sure when making an Ice coffee to have selected the "over ice" function then clear the error.

When your Multi Serve coffee maker shows the error code E13 in the display, it means that the heating plate is not reaching the preset temperature for the desired drink choice.

This could happen when you're trying to brew an Over Ice beverage, but the Over Ice function was not engaged.

If the carafe is full of ice, and you choose a hot coffee drink, this will prevent the heating plate from reaching the proper temperature and the E13 error will appear.

To clear this error from the display, unplug the unit and let the unit sit idle for 5-10 minutes. Then, plug the unit back in and reset the time before using.

1.4 Display shows error E03, E04, E06, E07, E10, E11, E12, E14, E15

Unplug the appliance, wait 5 minutes, and plug it back in

1.5 Display shows error E02, E05, E08, E09, E16 and E18

  • Unplug the appliance, wait 5 minutes, and plug it back in

  • Perform a descaling cycle.

1.6 Display shows error E19

Make sure the selector knob is not stuck in between two selections then clear the error.

1.7 Error code "LID"

The "LID" error message will appear when the coffee basket lid is not properly closed.

1.8 Warming light indicator still on when the machine is off

Once the unit is turned off, the keep warming indicator light remains lit until the warming plate cools down.

Coffee Issues

2.1 The brewing process was interrupted.

When the Drip stop function is activated, the lever is on "drip stop" position, for more than 2 minutes the Multiserve will stop the brewing cycle and reset itself to standby.

2.2 The unit is not brewing the quantity of water selected when Over the Ice function has been chosen.

When making an Over Ice beverage you need to account for the volume of ice in the carafe. The unit will brew half of the amount chosen and mix with the ice yielding the beverage of choice. (You can select only half or full carafe recipes)

Leaking Issues

3.1 Coffee is overflowing.

  • Make sure the customer is not using a paper and gold tone filter together. They need to use one or the other.

  • Make sure that the basket is not too full of coffee and that the grounds are not too fine. Drip coffee makers require a coarse-ground coffee.

  • Make sure the filter basket is properly inserted.
