SAP Warehouse Change Error
Sometimes when we are processing our replacement orders in SAP, we may notice an error where SAP changes the warehouse code from DCA1 to DNJ1.
Why do we have this error?
SAP modifies the warehouse based on the quote’s availability. This happens only for items where we choose DCA1 but there is available stock associated with the quote in DNJ1. SAP will prioritize quote availability over warehouse location.
How can we avoid this error from happening?
To avoid this from happening, we can follow the same flow presented in SAP, fill in the information in Section A, and then fill in the information in Section B.
Or we could place the order first (fill the information in section B), but when the order needs to be sent from California, leave the field where we normally type the DCA1 blank. After you press enter, if the unit is available in a quote in DNJ1, the field will be auto-populated to DNJ1. If that happens, you can change it to DCA1.
