Manual espresso ECP3X troubleshooting tips

ECP3X and ECPX Series unit replacement increase

One of the most critical impacts is the lack of troubleshooting for these units. Frontline/email agents are just requesting videos to capture the issue, and no accurate troubleshooting is being done. The next step followed is to request POP information and when the ticket is escalated to Replacements, the BO Agents process the order as they are not trained on how to troubleshoot these units. DeLonghi ends up replacing units for something that could be fixed and is actually a lack of following the instructions in the manual on the customer's end.

Things we need to check first before processing a replacement for these units at the time customers report "No Espresso Coffee is Delivered"

MANUAL ESPRESSO MAKER ECP3X

  1. Clean the filter holder spout holes

Potential cause: The holes in the filter holder are blocked.

  1. Clean the espresso boiler outlet

Potential cause: The espresso boiler outlet is blocked.

  • Make sure the appliance is not hot and that it is unplugged from the mains

  • Using the screwdriver, unscrew the screw fixing the espresso boiler outlet

    • Rinse under running water, rubbing all the time

    • Replace the boiler outlet, making sure the gasket is correctly positioned

If these steps don't fix the issue, then proceed to descale the machine.

Possible cause: Limescale in the water circuit.

    9.    Turn the mode selector dial to the following position (and deliver water until the tank is empty).
