ECAM45055S sent in for repair due to not frothing properly
Unit was tested out of the box and working properly. Service Center advises that the customer is using something other than whole milk or 2% milk (has fat); other types of milk do not. Also, ensure that the customer cleans the carafe after every use by turning the dial to clean. In addition, check that the stem coupling nozzle is clean around the O rings, and try taking a pin to clear the hole of any debris. DO NOT shove, force, or pin because it may cause internal damage. Action: Ensure that the tamper arm is not engaged
In the picture at the left, the tampering arm is engaged. If this arm is up, the unit will not grind. The unit cannot tamper and grind at the same time. While doing a Techsee session, please ensure that you pay close attention to avoid costly repair requests. In this case, the unit was sent in for repair. Bates found issues with the unit. The customer needed to fill the water tank and lower the tampering arm. This was the second repair request.
Coiling Cleaning for Pac Units
If a customer calls in saying their PAC unit is not cooling, has ice buildup, or has excess water buildup, please advise the customer to clean the coil on the PAC unit. They can purchase the coil cleaner at a local hardware store or Amazon for about $8.
